About Kurose

Kurose Modoki began writing The Silver Anomaly with a single image: a child in the gutters of a gleaming silver city, looking up at a sky that was beginning to crack. That image became five volumes, two prequels, and a universe that stretches from a dying Earth to the moons of Luna Mater.

The series is rooted in a simple but enduring question: what does a society owe the people it throws away? Silver City is beautiful, stratified, and merciless — a world that discards Hyram before he can speak for himself, and then spends five books discovering what it created by doing so. The Anomaly is not a hero born to greatness. He is a product of neglect who chose, against every reasonable expectation, to be something more.

The two prequels — Exodus Earth and Osprey — expand the universe backward in time, tracing humanity's flight from a dying sun, the construction of the Dyson Sphere, the long voyage through the stars, and the violent, fragile process of building a civilisation on a world that was not made for them. They are origin stories. They are also warnings.

Kurose writes at night, which is when the fractures are most visible. The Silver Anomaly series is complete in five volumes, with both prequels available now.
